went running on sunday tried for 10 miles did the first 2 clinging on to my friend along a toepath covered in ice, which brings me to being a wuss when cutting my toenails one fell off and I found a nice new soft one underneath. anyway I digress... we managed the first 2 miles in about half an hour, things looked up then though and we jogged a slow but steady 8 . I felt good thanks to my friends and am on the road for the training to come , went to virgin club and enjoyed doing 5.5 easy, and learnt why my trainers stink of cat pee, it is I am told a lack of carbohydrate, so we shall see , anyway I dutifully dashed home and troughed down a carb and protein drink before shower, got to get the food stuff right , lovely running and chatting with Ellie and the others tonight, feel anything is possible.

Went out with the gang and managed a 10mile though slow I managed it steady, quite icy in places , feeling really good about doing a nice boost to get on with running as I felt so unsure as to doing the distance , so lovely to have my friends support, and encouragement, im gonna go for it now cos ive got so much ground to pick up, but am happy to do brass monkey as a lsd run next week.

Oh er Ive had marathon training programme arrived today, 5 weeks of endurance phase increasing long sunday runs 1 hr 50 with 2 other sessions steady it looks possible, so as long as I take it easy and not look to far ahead then its all good. If the weather is looking marginally better im going for a jog round golden acre park with the fast kids, I am feeling more optomistic now because im on the mend from the flu at last. Ian gave me half his chocolate reindeer, and I did not say no. see how tomorrow goes. It would be good to have a chocolate free day.

I am feeling better today , not brilliant but better, back to work tomorrow then I must try and get out to see if I can still run well jog even would be good, having stuffed the remaining chocolates down, perhaps the weather will be kind on sunday for our run, Im going to use this as a diary to help to motivate myself and keep on track for the big M.

Been feeling sorry for myself as I have had the dreaded lurgy snotty flu ! am getting over it but seems so slow and boring, am watching to much tv, just want to feel well A1 again, and for it to stop freezing. I am a little concerned about doing the brass monkey as its not far away and ive only run 6 miles this year, time will tell but the marathon looms and I want to get on with training soon. hopefully back to work on sat should be able to push on then all being equal.
